Along with Title IX compliance, institutions of higher learning must be in compliance with the Clery Act. Both the Clery Act and Title IX are some of the most powerful acts of law that ensure that institutions are properly reporting and that students are provided due process rights for grievance procedures, and that students who are victims are provided adequate service and support. Institutions of higher learning are required by the Clery Act to ensure that campuses are properly recording crimes, have campus mechanisms and policies in place to prevent and respond to crimes on or at campus events, and that there is transparency between students and the campus leadership when responding and reporting crimes.
